INSTITUTE MUSEUM

The Museum of ISv and APV of the National Academy of Sciences was opened on August 1, 1980 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the All-Union Research Institute of Pig Breeding (now the Institute of Pig Breeding and Agricultural Production of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine).

Responsibility for its scientific design, periodic updating and replenishment is entrusted to the head. laboratories of scientific research on issues of intellectual property and innovation marketing of Oleksiy Fedorovych Sagl. (as of January 1, 2020 - associate professor). The artistic decoration of the museum was carried out by the well-known Poltava artist V. I. Deryabin

In the exposition of the museum, on 19 wall-mounted stands, in chronological order, in its three sections, materials are presented from the day of the foundation of the institute to the present time: the 1st section - up to the period of the Second World War; 2nd – post-war period; The 3rd is the present.

In the section "Pre-war period" with the problems of the formation of the institute, and already in 1940, the Myrhorod breed of pigs was tested. In the post-war period, considerable success was achieved in breeding work. Here you can familiarize yourself with the productivity parameters of the newly created domestic meat breeds of pigs, namely the Poltava meat breed (year of approval 1993); Ukrainian meat breed (1993) and red and white belted breed (2007)

In the "Today" section, museum visitors can familiarize themselves with promising technological developments in the field of animal feeding, keeping and care.

A podium is equipped in the center of the museum room, on which samples of appropriate devices developed by scientists of the institute, which are widely used in industry practice, are placed.

Scientific publications of the institute from 1931 to the present are also placed on the podium.

The museum also has photos of leading scientists of the institute and their achievements.

The museum is visited by guests of the institute, young students, high school students from various schools, both from Poltava itself and from various regions of the Poltava region.

There is a special stand on international cooperation on industry issues.
