History of the creation of the Council of Young Scientists and the present

The Council of Young Scientists of the Institute of Pig Breeding and Agricultural Research of the NAAS resumed its activities in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council. The meeting was held on May 28, 2020 (chairman - Rybalko V.P.)

In the period from 2020 to 2024, the Chair of the Council of Young Scientists was Khotsenko Alla Volodymyrivna. Since 2024, the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists is Peka Mykyta Yuriyovych.

As of 2025, the Council of Young Scientists consists of 17 people, including 8 postgraduate students of the Institute of Pig Breeding and Animal Husbandry of the NAAS and 6 people with scientific degrees.

 

Preparation of postgraduate students and defense of dissertations

Representatives of the Council of Young Scientists take an active part in the consideration of the work programs of postgraduate research on the topic of their dissertation by the Methodological Commission of the Institute of Pig Breeding and Animal Husbandry of the NAAS.

Young scientists, together with scientists of the Institute of Pig Breeding and Animal Husbandry of the NAAS, regularly hold seminars at which the results of postgraduate dissertations are approved.

During the period 2024-2025, the defenses of the dissertations of young scientists were held:

Participation in scientific projects 

Young scientists are involved in fundamental and applied research funded by the state budget of Ukraine and the European Commission. For the period 2020-2025, 3 applications for grants from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine were submitted with the participation of the Council of Young Scientists.

The Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, Peka Mykyta Yuriyovych, participates in two European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST Association) projects: European Swine Influenza Network (COST Action 21132);

 Non-globular proteins in the era of Machine Learning (COST Action 21160).

The Council of Young Scientists promotes the search for domestic and foreign grant support for scientific research and scholarship programs for young scientists. Informs young scientists and members of the Council of Young Scientists about competitions for the implementation of fundamental, applied and exploratory scientific research funded by national and international grant agencies.
