During the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Pig Breeding and AIP on August 30, 2021, S.O. Semenov, the leading researcher of the feeding laboratory, the scientific work "New Ecological Paradigm in Pig Breeding" was presented, which is consistent with the theme of the Institute and is extremely relevant in the context of the challenge of climate change for the livestock industry. The author of the work, with reference to his own experience and scientific achievements, as well as trends in the development of this field of research in the world, determined the priority areas of the pig breeding industry for the coming years, focused on scientific approaches to feeding and keeping pigs. The work aroused interest among those present, the author was asked many questions and wishes regarding its publication, familiarization of the scientific community and production workers, obtaining copyright for the service work.

In accordance with the Regulation of the Institute of Pig Breeding and AIP on the procedure for reporting by holders of the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy on the implementation of an individual work plan, on April 27, 2021, an attestation of postgraduate students of 1-4 years of study was held, during which reports on the implementation of the educational and scientific component of the educational and scientific program were heard , approval of the results of scientific research on the topic of the dissertation, publications in specialized domestic publications and international scientometric databases. A conclusion was made about the successful implementation by graduate students of an individual plan of scientific work and theoretical training in the specialty 204 Technology of production and processing of animal husbandry products.

On September 8, 2021, employees of the Institute of Pig Breeding and AIP Konks T.M. and Gurina V.M. took an active part in the gastronomic festival "Haffka fest", which was held at the Poltava State Agrarian University and aimed to acquaint students with higher education, teachers and guests with the products of more than 20 local producers of the food industry, as well as the opportunity to make certain types of products with their own hands. The held master classes made it possible to learn how to preserve flowers, paint gingerbread, knead dough for bread, make cheese, identify adulteration of meat and dairy products, make multi-colored noodles at home, etc. Employees of the Institute gained interesting experience with the possibility of implementing it in the development of future scientific topics of the institution.

Seeing the urgency of the revival of domestic pig breeding, the staff of the breeding laboratory of the Institute of Pig Breeding and AIP developed a breeding system in pig breeding, which is consistent with the legislation of Ukraine in the field of breeding in animal husbandry and is designed to ensure its adaptation to the requirements of the European Union. The main positions of the modern selection system in Ukrainian pig breeding at the Scientific Council, which took place on November 9, 2021, were highlighted by the head of the selection and genetics department, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Hryshina L.P. and L.H. Peretyatko, head of the selection laboratory. A decision was made to approve the recommendations "Modern breeding system in pig breeding" with their further approval by the Scientific Expert Council of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine. The necessity of familiarization with the development of managers, chief specialists and breeders of pig farms, teachers, graduate students and students of higher education was recognized.

On November 9, 2021, at the meeting of the Scientific Council of IS and AIP of the National Academy of Sciences, the chief researcher of the breeding laboratory, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Berezovsky M.D. reported on the creation of a new highly productive cross in the large white breed of pigs. A new breeding achievement was created in the conditions of a farm in the Dnipropetrovsk region by the method of crossing pigs of the large white breed, landraces, pietrens and terminal boars of their own reproduction. Pigs of the new cross are characterized by high productivity in various conditions of production. A decision was made to approve a new breeding achievement and its intensive use in the production of pig products.

With the aim of acquiring competences in the basics of molecular genetics, the Institute of Pig Breeding and AIP was visited by bachelor's level students of the Faculty of Biology of the Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazin. The head of the laboratory is Professor Viktor Balatskyi and Art. researchers Serhiy Kurinnyi and Artem Sayenko talked about the directions of scientific research of the laboratory's employees and graduate students, demonstrated the equipment of the certified and certified modern laboratory, familiarized them with modern methods of scientific research, involved in the process of identifying marker genes in pigs of various breeds, etc. Applicants received answers to questions about the possibilities of implementing the results of genetic research in pig breeding, cooperation of scientists with foreign partners, training of graduate students, approbation of research results in foreign scientometric databases, etc.

Maksym Ivanovich Kulyk, professor of the Department of Breeding, Seed Production and Genetics, and Tetyana Mykolaivna Konks, researcher of the Laboratory of Scientific Research on Intellectual Property and Innovation Marketing, as well as assistant of the Department of Breeding, Seed Production and Genetics Olga Mykolayivna Dinets, took part in the jury of the II stage of the scientific defense competition -research works of student-members of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Agrarian Sciences section).
