Abstract

The purpose o f the research was to evaluate the potential o f using two times removal o f manure per day from the premises o f pig houses under natural and mechanical ventilation systems, fo r a comparative assessment o f the main parameters o f the microclimate The relevance o f the work is determined by the implementation o f the method o f multi-parametric assessment o f the microclimate o f piggery premises by the method o f continuous automatic registration. Methods. Analytical, zootechnical, physical and biometric research methods are applied. Results. Microclimate parameters were measured 24 hours a day in two pig breeding premises o f the Cherkasy State Agricultural Research Station o f National Science Center "Institute o f Agriculture NAAS" (pigs o f the red and white-belted breed) under natural and mechanical ventilation systems and oneand two-time removal o f manure. It was established that the parameters o f the microclimate o f pig farm s with natural and mechanical supply-exhaust ventilation systems were close to the normative values during the periods o f the year. An exception is the air temperature index in the summer period in both rooms, which exceeded the maximum permissible normative value (21.0°С) fo r young animals in fattening, in particular: by 25,7 - 30,0 % in the room with the natural system and by 20,0 - 23,3 % in a room with a mechanical ventilation system. During the two-time removal o f manure during the day, in a room with natural ventilation, the concentration o f polluting gases CO2, NH3, CH4 and fine dust PM1-10 probably decreased by periods o f the year, respectively, by 2,2 - 19,7%, 10,6 - 57,7%, 12,8 - 25,5 % a n d 21,4 - 30,1 % fo r РМ1-10 - only in the winter-spring period). Similarly, in a p ig house with a mechanical ventilation system, the concentration o f CO2, NH3, CH4 and PM1-10 probably decreased by 3,2 - 20,3 %, 14,7 - 62,0 %, 3,3 - 21,7 % and 9,8 - 33,6 % (for РМ1-10 - only in winter, spring and summer periods). Therefore, the two-fold removal o f manure from pig houses is not only an effective measure to control the sources o f indoor air pollutants, but also a significant factor in reducing emissions o f pollutants into the environment by ventilation systems. Conclusions. Probable average and high influence o f the period o f the year on the variability o f air temperature, relative humidity, volume concentration o f carbon dioxide, ammonia, methane and mass concentration offine dust in the premises o f pig houses was established (by 93,2 %; 45,7; 57,0; 63,2, 75,4 % and 30,1 %, respectively). Also, a probable low influence o f the type o f ventilation on the variability o f the above indicators was determined (by 1,4 %; 6,6; 9,8; 18,6; 4,8 and 13,5 %, respectively) and a low, but also probable influence the frequency o f manure removal, on the variability o f air temperature, relative humidity, volume concentration o f carbon dioxide, ammonia, methane, and mass concentration o f fine dust in the premises o f pig houses (by 0,42 %; 0,02; 0,37; 0,52; 2,93 % a n d 3,3 % respectively).
