Trends and technological innovations in pig breeding
On the basis of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy (Gorky) from October 4 to 6, 2012, the 19th International Scientific and Practical Conference on "Modern trends and technological innovations in pig breeding" took place.

Lectures on the following issues were heard at the plenary session:
Belarusian pig farming should be competitive (Sheiko I.P. - Doctor of Science, Professor, Academician; RUP "Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Animal Husbandry").
The state, strategy and scientific support of the pig breeding industry in Ukraine (V.P. Rybalko - Doctor of Science, Professor, Academician; Institute of Pig Breeding and APV of the National Academy of Sciences).
Combined fodder and standardized feeding of pigs (V.M. Golushko - Doctor of Science, Professor, Member of the Board; RUP "Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Animal Husbandry").
Substitution of soybean meal with sunflower meal concentrate in the diets of young pigs and poultry (L.I. Podobed, Institute of Pig Breeding and APR of the National Academy of Sciences).

From October 4 to 6, 2012, the XIX International Scientific and Practical Conference on Pig Breeding was held on the basis of the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy, which, on the initiative of the Institute of Pig Breeding and APV of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, is held annually alternately in one of the CIS countries: Ukraine, Russia or the Republic of Belarus .
Scientists, teachers, post-graduate students, well-known managers and employees of research institutions, universities and pig farming enterprises of various regions of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus, and Poland (112 people in total) took part in the conference.
The participants of the conference were cordially greeted by the Rector of the Academy, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor O.P. Kurdeko and the Head of the Department for Breed Affairs in Animal Husbandry of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Yu.M. Horlov.
The main speeches at the plenary part of the conference were made by: I.P. Sheyko - Dr. S.-G. of Sciences, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, V.P. Rybalko - doctor of science and technology. of Sciences, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, V.V. Garay - doctor of agriculture Sciences, professor of the VNII of Tribal Affairs, S. Labinskyi (Poland), L. I. Podobed, M. O. Loban, K. F. Pocherniaev, Yu. M. Horlov,
D.M. Khodosovskyi, V.E. Ulitko, P.A. Krasochko, S.P. Kiryachenko.
Another 14 people from science and industry spoke with messages and in the discussion.
Before the start of the conference, the organizing committee received 98 scientific reports, which were published as a special collection of scientific works by the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Animal Husbandry and the Belarusian State Agricultural Academy.
The work of the conference was carried out in three directions: breeding, genetics, selection and reproduction of pigs; pig feeding and fodder production technology; production technology of pig farming products, environmental problems.
Conference participants received interesting information on the trends and modern features of world pig farming, the state and prospects of the industry in certain regions of different countries. The program of the conference provided for familiarization with the infrastructure of the academy, as well as visits to agricultural enterprises and educational and research farms in the Shklovsky and Horetsky districts of the country.
On the basis of the reports heard by scientists and industrial workers, as well as the discussion of issues related to the topic of the conference, the following resolution was adopted:
Despite the insufficient level of the material and technical base, pig breeding research is actively being conducted in all regions of the countries participating in the conference to improve the existing breeds and created genotypes, as well as their effective combinations, the development of topical issues of livestock reproduction, complete feeding and modern technologies for the production of high-quality pork in various categories of farms.
It is advisable to expand research on the unification of computer programs, as well as the identification of pigs and the search for effective methods of diagnosing their productivity.
Find ways to increase the financial interest of breeding farms to grow high-value young animals to increase the productivity of mass pig farming and its competitiveness.
To raise before state structures the issue of developing the Law on the Protection of Intellectual Property in Pig Breeding and Material Stimulation of Authors from Science and Production.
Invite specialists on veterinary animal protection issues to further conferences.
At the conferences, create conditions for discussion of problematic issues in the management of the industry, as well as practice terminology in pig farming.
Organize the coordinating council for pig breeding within the CIS.
Academicians V.P. Rybalko and I.P. Sheyko to prepare information for the mass media about the XIX International Scientific and Practical Conference.
Continue the traditional practice of holding international scientific and practical conferences on pig breeding.
Practice discussions in special scientific and industrial publications on fundamental and applied problems of further management of the pig breeding industry.
Instruct Academicians V.P. Rybalko, I.P. Sheyko and Professor V.V. Garay to decide on the time and city of holding the next XX International Pig Breeding Conference in 2013 in one of the regions of the Russian Federation.
