COMPLIANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF COPE, WAME, DORA, ETC.


The scientific collection "Pig Breeding and Agroindustrial Production" is guided by the highest standards of publishing ethics and academic integrity in its activities, adhering to the principles and recommendations of leading international organizations and declarations:  COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics),  WAME (World Association of Medical Editors), DORA (Declaration on Research Assessment) , etc.

The editorial board of the publication, relying on such documents of the CORE, as

  • ● Impartiality - making publication decisions solely on the basis of scientific quality and relevance of the research
  • ● Confidentiality - maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts and the review process
  • ● Fairness - equal treatment of all authors regardless of their origin, gender, religion or political beliefs
  • ● Transparency - openness and clarity of decision-making procedures and criteria at all stages of the publication process
  • ● Academic integrity - avoiding plagiarism, falsification, double publications.
  • ● Full disclosure - declaring all conflicts of interest and sources of funding
  • ● Correct authorship - including in the list of authors only those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research
  • ● Handling complaints - open procedures for considering appeals and ethical complaints.
  • ● Corrections and withdrawals of articles - a transparent procedure for retraction, corrections and reporting errors.

Adherence to WAME (World Association of Medical Editors) principles

Although the scientific collection "Pig Breeding and Agroindustrial Production" is not a medical publication, the editorial board recognizes the value of WAME recommendations for ensuring high standards of the scientific publication process:

  • ● Editorial independence – editors’ decisions are not influenced by sponsors, institutions or commercial interests.
  • ● Conflicts of interest – authors, reviewers and editors are required to declare them.
  • ● Objective peer review – ensuring fair and timely peer review.

  • ● Ethical standards for animal research – mandatory approval by a bioethics committee for research involving farm and laboratory animals.

Support for the DORA Declaration (Declaration on Research Assessment)

The scientific collection fully supports the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) and in its activities undertakes to:

  • ● focus primarily on scientific content, rather than on quantitative indicators of the publication or journal
  • ● promote a variety of evaluation metrics, including alternative indicators (altmetrics)
  • ● take into account different types of research outputs (data, software, patents, etc.)
  • ● support and encourage authors to open access and open science
  • ● make publication decisions solely on the basis of scientific quality and novelty, refusing to discriminate on the basis of the "prestige" of the author(s)' previous publications
  • ● not promote practices that inappropriately manipulate citation indicators
